Erawan Waterfall & River Kwai Private Day Tour from Bangkok
Hosted by Wandee Tours
Not everyone wants the same Erawan experience.
Some guests want to walk as far as possible and swim in the pools. Others prefer a gentler visit, more time for photographs and a relaxed lunch. Wandee can adjust the day around your interests, walking pace and energy.
Tour Highlights
️ Erawan Waterfall – 7-Tiered Jungle Paradise
Discover one of Thailand’s most breathtaking natural sites — a series of seven emerald-green tiers, tucked within a lush national park.
- Swim in refreshing natural pools
- Hike at your own pace — reach as many levels as you like
- Spot monkeys, butterflies, and exotic birds
Note: The full hike to the top tier requires moderate fitness. Bring hat, sunscreen, comfortable shoes, swimwear, and towels.
Prefer Phra That Cave instead of the River Kwai Bridge
The cave can be included as an alternative to the River Kwai Bridge. Because of the distance and time involved, visiting both on the same day is not normally practical. If you enjoy cave exploration and don’t mind a more active challenge, we can visit to Phra That Cave, located nearby in Erawan National Park.
- Impressive limestone formations inside a spacious cave
- A peaceful, less-visited spot with stunning natural features
- Caution: Reaching the cave requires a steep climb, and due to time limitations, this option would replace the visit to the River Kwai Bridge.

The Bridge on the River Kwai

(Available only if Phra That Cave is not visited)
Step into history at the famous Bridge on the River Kwai, part of the WWII-era “Death Railway” built by Allied POWs.
- Walk across the historic steel bridge
- Take in scenic river views
- Learn about Kanchanaburi’s wartime past

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this tour suitable for children or those with limited fitness?
The lower tiers of Erawan Waterfall are easy walking and great for families. Reaching the top (7th) tier involves a longer hike over uneven, sometimes slippery terrain, so moderate fitness is needed for the full climb. You can go at your own pace and turn back at any tier.
Who is this tour suitable for?
- Couples wanting a private day trip from Bangkok
- Families who prefer their own vehicle and flexible pace
- Small groups travelling together
- Travellers who want to combine Erawan Waterfall with the River Kwai
- Visitors who don’t want to join a large coach tour
What’s included in the tour?
A private air-conditioned vehicle from your Bangkok hotel, and an English-speaking guide for the day. Lunch is optional and can be arranged locally or packed, depending on your preference.
Can I visit both Phra That Cave and the Bridge on the River Kwai?
Not on the same day — due to time constraints, Phra That Cave is offered as an alternative to the Bridge, not an add-on. If you’d like to do both, let us know when booking and we can discuss options.
How long is the drive from Bangkok?
Around 2.5–3 hours each way to the Erawan/Kanchanaburi area, so it’s a full day out — typically departing around 7:00 AM and returning to Bangkok by early evening.
What should I bring?
Sunscreen, a hat, comfortable walking shoes, swimwear, and a towel if you plan to swim in the pools.
