What should I wear to visit the Grand Palace in Bangkok ?

The Grand Palace in Bangkok is one of Thailand’s most important cultural and religious sites, so visitors are required to dress respectfully. The dress code is strictly enforced at the entrance.

For both men and women, shoulders and knees must be covered.

For men:
Wear long trousers that cover the ankles. Wear a shirt with sleeves (short sleeves are fine). Avoid sleeveless shirts, vests, and shorts.

For women:
Wear clothing that covers the shoulders and knees. Avoid sleeveless tops, crop tops, see-through clothing, leggings, and short skirts or shorts. A lightweight scarf can be useful for covering shoulders if needed.

Footwear:
Comfortable shoes or sandals with a back strap are recommended. Flip-flops are not permitted.

Bangkok can be very hot, so I recommend wearing light, breathable clothing while still following the Grand Palace dress requirements. Comfortable shoes are especially important because you will do a lot of walking during your visit.

If you join a private Bangkok tour with Wandee, I can help you plan what to wear and make sure your visit to the Grand Palace is comfortable, respectful, and enjoyable.

Smoking is not permitted inside temples, vehicles, or boats. If you’d like to smoke, please let me know and I can plan for a break at a suitable spot.

Tours are conducted in English. If you’d prefer another language, please let me know in advance and I’ll do my best to accommodate.

The deposit reserves your chosen date and allows me to make any necessary arrangements in advance. As an independent private tour guide in Bangkok, I may commit to transport, driver bookings and other pre-arranged services before your tour takes place.

The deposit also helps protect against the costs of last-minute cancellations and no-shows, including transport expenses, driver fees and lost income from turning away other bookings. I believe in treating every guest fairly and openly, so I like to explain exactly why a deposit is requested.

Deposits are securely paid using Wise (formerly TransferWise), which provides a simple and reliable way to make international payments. Once you’re ready to book your private tour in Bangkok or anywhere in Thailand, I’ll send you my payment details along with confirmation of your itinerary.

If you need to cancel your booking, deposits may be refundable depending on how much notice is given. Full details of my deposit, cancellation and refund policy can be found in my Terms & Booking Policy, so you can book with confidence, knowing exactly what to expect.

The remaining balance is normally paid before or at the start of your tour, as agreed during the booking process.

Payment is made in Thai Baht (THB) at the time of pick-up on the day of your tour.

Cash payment in Thai Baht is preferred and is the simplest way to complete payment on the day of your tour.

I also accept Visa and Mastercard only for in-person card payments. If you would like to pay by card, please let me know in advance so I can bring the card payment machine with me.

A 3% processing fee applies to all card payments.

I will confirm the final tour price and payment arrangements with you before your tour date, so everything is clear and straightforward before we begin your Bangkok adventure.

Yes, I recommend bringing some Thai Baht (THB) with you for your tour.

Cash is the preferred payment method for the remaining balance of your tour with Wandee, and having some Thai Baht available also makes your day more convenient. You may wish to use cash for small purchases such as local food, drinks, snacks, markets, souvenirs or other personal expenses along the way.

While Visa and Mastercard are accepted for tour payments if arranged in advance, some smaller local businesses in Thailand may accept cash only. Having Thai Baht with you means you can enjoy your day without worrying about payment options.

I will always confirm your tour price and payment arrangements before your tour date, so everything is clear before we meet

I understand that travel plans can sometimes change — life happens. My cancellation policy is designed to be fair and transparent, while also covering costs that may already have been committed for your private tour, such as transport arrangements, driver bookings and other services.

The cancellation and refund policy is as follows:

More than 15 days before the tour date:
✓ Full deposit refund (in Thai Baht, less any transfer fees).

10–15 days before the tour date:
✓ 15% of the deposit will be refunded (less any applicable charges).

Less than 10 days before the tour date:
No refund can normally be offered, as arrangements and services may already have been confirmed and costs committed.

All cancellations must be made by email.

I always try to be fair and flexible with my guests. If unexpected circumstances arise, please contact me as soon as possible and I will do my best to help wherever I can.

Full details of my deposit, cancellation and refund policy can be found in my Terms & Booking Policy, so you can book with confidence, knowing exactly what to expect.

On selected tours where lunch is included, you will usually enjoy a Thai-style meal at a local restaurant. Lunch is often served buffet-style, offering a variety of Thai dishes so you can try different flavours and enjoy an authentic local dining experience.

Menus can vary depending on the restaurant and availability, but meals typically include a selection of popular Thai dishes. This gives you the opportunity to experience a taste of Thailand’s famous cuisine during your day of exploring Bangkok.

If you have any dietary restrictions, allergies or specific food preferences, please let me know when booking so I can advise and make arrangements where possible.

If lunch is not included with your chosen tour, I am always happy to recommend local restaurants or places to try authentic Thai food during your visit.

Yes. I am happy to help with vegetarian, vegan and other dietary requirements wherever possible.

Thailand has many wonderful food options, and I can help recommend suitable dishes and restaurants during your tour. If you have any dietary restrictions, allergies, food intolerances or preferences, please let me know when booking so I can make the necessary arrangements and advise the restaurant in advance where possible.

For guests who are vegetarian or vegan, I can help you discover delicious Thai dishes that suit your preferences while still experiencing the flavours and culture of Thai cuisine.

Please share any important dietary information before your tour so I can help make your experience enjoyable, comfortable and stress-free.
