Explore Bangkok with a local female guide on a private full-day tour combining the city’s most famous temples and royal landmarks with a traditional long-tail boat journey through Bangkok’s canals. Visit the Grand Palace, Wat Pho and Wat Arun, then see a very different side of Bangkok as you travel through the city’s historic waterways. Hotel pickup and return are available in Bangkok. The tour can also be arranged using Bangkok’s public transport if you prefer.

The Grand Palace
Step into the spiritual and cultural heart of Thailand with a visit to the breathtaking Grand Palace. Admire its glittering architecture, golden spires, and immaculate detail. Inside the temple complex we’ll visit the revered Emerald Buddha, a masterpiece carved from a single block of jade. I recommend visiting the Grand Palace early in the day when possible, as Bangkok can become very hot and busy later. I’ll explain the history and significance of the buildings as we explore the complex together.”
Wat Pho, Home of the Reclining Buddha
Next we visit Wat Pho, home to the famous 46 metre long Reclining Buddha. This temple is also known as the birthplace of traditional Thai Massage. The peaceful atmosphere, intricate murals, and over 1000 Buddha images make this a truly inspiring stop.
A Private Long-Tail Boat Canal Tour
Then, step aboard a traditional long-tail boat for a leisurely 90-minute ride through Bangkok’s historic canals (klongs).
- See daily life unfold along the riverbanks
- Spot traditional stilt houses, riverside temples, and maybe even a monitor lizard or two
- Feed the fish and enjoy views of the stunning Royal Barges Museum from the water
Wat Arun to Finish
We end with a visit to the majestic Wat Arun, one of Bangkok’s most photographed landmarks. Clad in colorful porcelain tiles and built in Khmer-style, this 86-metre-tall temple gleams in the afternoon sun — a perfect finale to your cultural day out.

Please note there is a strict dress code at the Grand Palace. Women must be modestly dressed with no see through clothing or showing bare shoulders, no shorts or tights. Men must wear long trousers and shirts that have sleeves long or short. No tank tops or singlets are allowed. Footwear is to be proper ie no flip flops.
